# Notifications: know when a task needs you

> Biscuit tells you in your browser when a task has a question, needs your approval, or is done, even while you're in another tab.

Biscuit's AI team works on tasks in the background. Notifications let you know when one needs you, so you don't have to keep checking.

## What you get notified about

* **When a task needs you**: a task has a question or is waiting for your approval.
* **When a task finishes**: a task is done or ready for your review.

Notifications appear even while you're in another tab. The Biscuit tab icon also shows a count of what's waiting on you.

## Choose your notifications

Go to **Profile** in the sidebar and find **Notifications**. Turn each type on or off.

Notification settings apply to the browser you're using, because browser permission is granted per browser. Set them on each device where you use Biscuit.

> [!NOTE]
>
> If your browser is blocking notifications from Biscuit, allow them in your browser's site settings, then come back to **Profile**.
